OUR 2020 CHARITY DINNER
SPJARA RAISED £800 FOR CHARITIES
We held our annual charity dinner on 2 March at the Spice Lodge. And 43 guests came!
Thanks to their generosity we were able to raise:
£400 for LEPRA, enought to treat 16 leprosy patients
£400 for the external work needed to create the new open space outside Pip and Jim's
The evening was a great chance to meet friends and neighbours - and was made all the more enjoyable by the music provided by Olly Pickering and Jack Gibbon. Thanks to Tim Harman especially for his help in organising the event, and to the donors of raffle prizes.
Our 2019 CHARITY DINNER
SPJARA’s traditional early spring Spice Lodge Charity Dinner took place on Monday, 25 February. We had 28 guests. Music was provided by local musiuonans Jack and Oliver.
We raised £605 in all, £302.50 each for our two good causes: Family Space and the Cheltenham Hospital scanner appeal. Sarah Avery of Family Space was our speaker, and spoke movingly of the many families in difficulty that they have been able to help. A great evening with a good purpose.

Our 2018 CHARITY DINNER
On 5 March 2018, just after the snow melted, we had a most enjoyable evening at the Spice Lodge. We raised £377, topped up by the committee to £400, to be divided between two charities:
- a local mental health charity, Lifting the Blues, and
- BRAC, too help the charity assist the Rohingya refugees who have fled to Bangladesh
As well as a raffle, we enjoyed a lovely musical interlude given by Pia and Chris from Harpers Ferry.
