PictureAdrian McKie (National Star) and Diana Pollock - beneficiary and inspiration

The Open Gardens was a   great  success.

15 gardens in our area were   open for all to see.

We estimate nearly 200   people came. And we raised   more than £1,000 for the   National Star appeal.

Lots of fantastic feedback. Peope loved walking around, admiring the flowers, meeting neighbours, chatting with friends - and perhaps satisfying their curiosity as to what their neighbours' gardens look like.

Thanks above all to Diana Pollock who conceived, planned and executed the scheme.

And also to Marie Owen for serving teas in the marquee, and Su Newcombe for delicious Pimms and strawberries in her garden.
